Recently I spent several hours working with an organization on issues that resulted from gossip. Workplace gossip is cancerous.
We cannot delay in dealing with it. We have to deal with it quickly, fairly, and firmly. Do not avoid it. Do not hope that it will simply go away or blow over. Make sure that your organization knows that gossip is unwelcome and will not be tolerated.
Talk to people. Not about them.
