Announcing: The Executive Effectiveness Retreat

In February, we had the pleasure of hosting our first Executive Effectiveness Retreat. We gathered a handful of leaders at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards and spent two days diving deep on leadership. Led by Jim Wiginton—Broad Insights founder, award-winning coach, and decades-long leader—executives learned together, completed exercises, analyzed case studies, and role-played difficult conversations. In a special session, attendees were treated to personalized and insightful profiles of their personalities and patterns of behavior. Armed with this insight, several attendees had breakthroughs about how they function and relate to those around them.

What is the Executive Effectiveness Retreat?

The Executive Effectiveness Retreat brings together a cohort of executives for a 2-day event once a quarter. Each retreat focuses on a single topic, allowing the cohort to go deep and return to their companies with a clear plan of action. Retreats are most effective when taken as a set, but can be attended individually.

Who will be there?

The “who” of the Executive Effectiveness Retreat is important. As you’ve surely realized by now, these events are intended for the leaders of companies. Importantly, cohorts are carefully composed of leaders whose experiences will complement each other. We also recommend that only one person from a company be part of each cohort. This unique composition creates a group where you are free to share your experiences and learn from others.

What will we learn?

Everything you need to be effective! In our individual coaching sessions, we’ve discovered that it’s easy to jump around—from productivity to communication to budgeting, you have concerns. Covering all those topics in a single coaching session is hard. At the Executive Effectiveness Retreat, we focus on the most pressing issues for business leaders.

Why a retreat?

It’s easy to imagine that the “Retreat” element of this event is inconsequential. In fact, it’s fundamental to your success. Being removed from the office has a multitude of benefits. You’re uninterrupted, both literally and psychologically. You’re refreshed through a gorgeous location, amazing food, and—hopefully—some extra rest. You’re focused entirely on learning and growing. We’ve found “retreat” to be a vital element to relaxing and refocusing as leaders.
